Stokes County commissioners hold organizational meeting - Lankford is new Chair

(By Leslie Bray, The Stokes News) - There is a whole new look to the Stokes County Board of Commissioners, including a female amongst the traditionally male board. There is also a new structure to how things will be done; Ernest Lankford is now the Chairman of the Board, with Leon Inman serving as Vice Chair.

These decisions were made at an organizational meeting of the new Board on Monday, Dec. 6, at 10:30 a.m., shortly after the swearing in ceremony. James Booth, newly elected to the Board, was the first to speak. He stated that after a year of campaigning he sees how the nation wants government to be more conservative, then he proceeded to nominate Lankford for Board Chair.
