Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Whoops: New Oklahoma Governor Pledges to ‘Offend’ the Constitution

(By Meredith Jessup, The Blaze) - Newly sworn-in Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin took her official oath of office on Monday, but a slip of the tongue has many wondering if the oath of office needs to be administered again.

In the bone-chattering cold, the former congresswoman and lieutenant governor pledged to “support, obey and offend” the U.S. and Oklahoma constitutions.
