Accused Auburn Tree Poisoner Harvey Almorn Updyke Is A Retired Texas State Trooper, According To Facebook

(By Dan Fogarty, SportsGrid) - Harvey Almorn Updyke is quickly becoming the Southern United States’ most hated man. According to his Facebook page, he’s also retired Texas State Trooper.

Updyke, a 62-year-old Alabama fan who was arrested for poisoning Auburn University’s iconic oak trees, lists “Retired Texas State Trooper,” under his “Has worked at” section. He also lists Milton High as his high school, and says he lives in Mobile, Alabama.

We reached out to the Texas Department of Public Safety to see if there were any records of Updyke’s employment there. So far, we’ve been unable to get confirmation.
