Concordia University Basketball Player Pulls Off Sneaky Buzzer Beater

(By Brad Cohen, SportsGrid) - Staged trick-shot videos have become old hat lately, but you probably haven’t seen anything quite like Concordia University senior Danielle Clauson’s trick-shot buzzer beater last night.

With 0.7 seconds left in a tie game, the forward didn’t have many available options if she wanted to secure a victory in regulation. But before throwing the inbound pass from under the opposing basket, she noticed a defender facing away from the ball.

Making a wily decision, she threw the inbound pass off the defender’s back, recovered the ball and nailed a 10-foot jumper to beat College of Idaho and send her team to the NAIA National Tournament next week.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season, but these two points will surely go down as the most memorable. The move took some serious…guts.
