Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

George W. Bush Jokes To George Stephanopoulos: ‘Just Because You’re Reporting It’ Doesn’t Mean It’s True

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - Former President George W. Bush is going on a three-day mountain bike ride in Texas with soldiers who were wounded in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan to help raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. He appeared with George Stephanopoulos this morning to promote the cause and seemed to be in a great mood as he playfully joked “you haven’t lost a step Stephanopoulos.”
