Newt Gingrich Backtracks: Claims He Wasn't Attacking Paul Ryan Or Budget

(Real Clear Politics) - Republican candidate for president Newt Gingrich now says he was not attacking Rep. Paul Ryan when he called his budget plan "right-wing social engineering" on yesterday's "Meet the Press."

"I think we should be very careful about imposing things on the American people," Gingrich said of both ObamaCare and Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) plan to reform Medicare into a voucher system.

Gingrich was a guest on Mike Gallagher's radio program this morning. (audio from Hot Air)
