Rush Limbaugh: Drudge Forced ABC 'To Move It Up,' 'Messed Them Up' In Timing Of Interview Release

(By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr., CNSNews.com) - Today, Rush Limbaugh said that Matt Drudge “messed up” the timing of the release of an ABC interview with Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife, Marianne Gingrich that the executives at the organization were debating to maximize damage to Gingrich.

“If there was any debate at ABC it was over when would be the best time to do it so as to cause the most harm…and I’m going to tell you what I think- I think Drudge, messed them up.”

Rush continued to say that ABC, having attacked Mitt Romney this week with a report on his tax returns, was next going to target the Former Speaker after he won the South Carolina primary.

“I think the objective of ABC was to take Mitt out this week or to just do damage and I think they were saving Marianne Gingrich for Monday after the vote, after Newt wins or, theoretically, wins South Carolina. Then, they run the Marianne interview and that takes Newt out.”

“Drudge, on the 14th anniversary of posting the Lewinsky story, runs his story last night that ABC’S got this Marianne tape and they’re in this big ethical debate over when to run it which forced them to move it up, in my opinion.”
