Taser Used to Break Up Fight at East Forsyth High School

KERNERSVILLE, NC (WGHP) - A school resource officer with the Kernersville Police Department used a Taser to subdue a student when two students began swinging at each other Monday at East Forsyth High School.

Theo Helm, a spokesman with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system, said two students had been arguing in class and the dispute became physical in a courtyard after third period. Kernersville police defended the officer's actions.

A video sent to the Winston-Salem Journal from a 2005 East Forsyth graduate, Doug Schleter, has been making the rounds on Facebook.
