Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Emily Byrd doing well, thanks everyone for well-wishes

(By Scott Gustin, WGHP) - This morning, Emily Byrd took to Facebook to update everyone on how she’s doing and to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes.

Last Monday, Emily was seriously injured when she fell while shopping, hitting her head and breaking several bones. On Friday, she was released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.

Emily posted this update on her Facebook page early Tuesday morning...
