Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Re: Big money socialism

I can proudly say that when I was a County Commissioner, I voted against the resolution in support of the legislation providing public funds for the major league baseball stadium in the Triad. I also stood at a local Republican Convention and offered a resolution in opposition to that legislation. I read it in front of the state senator who sponsored the bill, Mark McDaniel. I suspect he was not very happy about that. My resolution went down in flames, but at least I got to read it in front of the rank and file of the Triad GOP. I think that's when they first started to go after me, but that's a tale for a different time...

Redistributionism is wrong, regardless of whether the beneficiary is an individual or a corporation.
