Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Bolton at the U.N.

I post this for the comical value...

From the editors of the Winston-Salem Journal:

Diplomats at the United Nations seem less bothered than are members of the U.S. Senate by the way in which John Bolton became the new U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. If his new colleagues at the U.N. mean what they are saying about judging Bolton on how he performs in the job, not on the unsavory reputation he brings with him, then Bolton has an opportunity to prove his critics wrong and serve his country well.
