Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Bolton at the U.N.

Sometimes I wonder if Mrs. Brinson even resides on the same planet with the rest of us. But then again, she really does nothing but regurgitate the party line according to the propaganda arms of the left, the New York Times and the Washington Post.

She grudgingly admits that recess appointments are not unprecedented, she had to since Bill Clinton made over 140 of them, but true to form, she picks out the controversial appointment of the Luxembourg ambassador, thereby managing to squeeze in a shot for homosexual favoritism. Of course she neglects to mention that it was the GOP leadership that called off the dogs on the obstruction of that appointment. Mrs. Brinson seems to be schooled in the fine art of walking the razor thin line bewteen lies and obfuscation. Amazingly, she gives lip service to the constitutionality of recess appointments, but then launches an elitist liberal rant on how wrong they are. As a side note, I think responsible journalists (wait, is that an oxymoron?) should refrain from even mentioning the US Constitution when they obviously have no clue as to its purpose or operation.

In any case, the UN is a degenerate and corrupt organization that the US should leave immediately and eject shortly thereafter. I can't think of a better person to send there than John Bolton and I hope he is as abrasive and contentious as he ever was.
