Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Dean's latest

Well, well, well. Speaking of he who walks on one leg, little Howie Dean does it again. Sure, Howie, Iraqi women were far better off with the random beheadings, rapes, and beatings. And they were infinitely better off with the possibility of being dragged off to Uday's palace for whatever sadistic delight he happened to think up that day.

Morons like Dean are actually lengthening the war. Aside even from giving comfort and aid to the enemy, they make it impossible to oppose the war here at home on rational grounds. The sensationalist press will zero in on these outrageous remarks and any chance of a reasoned argument against the Bush Doctrine goes right out the window.

Thanks a bunch, Howie. Don't you have a marble game to attend?
