Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Stokes health officials discuss conduct, director's job status

"However, Simmons said that the county does not have a health director because of the Aug. 3 meeting..."

Guess what, Sam? If the meeting was illegal, it didn't happen! I know you're a stupid liberal who can't even pick your own nose without written instructions from the government, but try to at least act like a grown-up when the media is watching.

Dr. Simmons would be my first choice to get the boot. He and his wife have been conning the county out of hundreds of thousands of tax dollars for years. I actually think both of them should be thrown in jail, but I'd settle for tossing them out of Stokes County government forever.

Please note that I am making an issue of the Simmonses wasting taxpayer dollars without first making the same complaint about the war in Iraq. I am aware that this is a blatant violation of the Tucker Miller rule, but it had to be said.
