Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Another response from my friend, K

Steve said: "Socialism cannot exist outside totalitarianism. If you're going to fool around with this stuff, you need to understand what kind of toy you're playing with. Have you read The Communist Manifesto or any of the writings of V. I. Lenin? If not, you need to before you spout any more of this nonsense. You nice, privileged, white liberals seem to think that when the socialist revolution happens, you will be able to remain as part of the privileged class. You're wrong. You and everyone like you will become part of the proletariat. Fodder for the Marxist grist mill. The government will tell you where and when you must work, where you will live, who you will live with, what you can buy, when you can buy it, and from who you can buy it. The government won't let you believe in Jesus. Christianity and socialism are mutually exclusive. All religion must be wiped out for the good of society and the state. The government won't let you say what you believe on The Bully Pulpit. There won't be any discussion forums or blogs and the government will tell you what you can say and when you can say it and to whom you can say it.Socialism is like a virus, and just as deadly. Maybe some of you don't care or are enraptured with this cute idea, but your games will end up killing the rest of us."

He has absolutely NO idea what Socialism is. NO idea. He should have taken my Marx, Marxism and the Aftermath of Marx class I had in college. Marx believed in the good of religion… while Lenin may have not, Marx did. He should also read Marx's "1844 Manuscripts" to read about his thoughts on religion and its place in society. People who are not well-read in these things should not spout out such nonsense. I have no respect for people like that.
