Bully Pulpit

Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Don't Shore Up Levees, Get Rid of Them, Enviros Say

I actually agree with what some of the environmentalists are saying here. I hope Behethland and Strother weren't drinking any hot coffee when they read that.

It seems to me that a combination of levees and buffer zones are needed. Leaving off the hyperbolic language of some of the "enviros," it just seems to make common sense. As with any engineering problem, the solution lies in balancing the forces one can utilize with the forces one can overcome.
