Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Re: 'Wake Up Stokes'

You mean those are different columns every week? I thought they were running the same ones over and over again.

Wow. Someone actually reads the Stokes Snooze? I thought it was just provided as a courtesy to pet owners and fishermen.

In what twisted universe does standing in the middle of the street in Wide-spot-in-the-road, NC, wearing a fez and begging for money qualify you to serve the public, much less comment on those who do? Stick to overcharging widows for yard sale signs, Lewis. Your verbal flatulence is stinking the place up.
