Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

My name is Earle (and Farrakhan and Rangel)

From The American Thinker:

Travis County, Texas, prosecutor Ronnie Earle, screwed up on the indictment announced last week against Tom Delay. So, Earle has rushed through a second indictment to clean up his mistake on the first, this time charging Delay not with conspiracy, but with money-laundering.

Minister Louis Farrakhan is marching again with his sights this time on Bill Bennett. Bennett was accused last week of being a racist. Farrakhan has picked up Bennett’s “fumble” and is running for the end zone, but he’s started the celebratory dance way too soon.

Charlie Rangel has said that Dick Cheney is “sick” “mean” and “evil” and should not hold his position as Vice President of the United States.

These are three prime examples of Democrats, as Cheney said yesterday, “losing it.” Earle is no Ken Starr. Farrakhan is no Pat Robertson. And Rangel is no, well, Tom Delay.
