Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: God and Government

And political conservatives prefer that the Christian definition of God is closely affiliated with our government, yet they don't want to heed all the advice of Jesus, just the parts that work for them?
As a conservative, I believe it should be left up to each individual to decide if they want to help the poor, etc. Besides, that's not a function of the federal government.

'Why do political conservatives like to align themselves with Jesus if they disagree with the feasibility of a number of his teachings as applied in the modern world?'
Like what???
