Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

This is what 'advice and consent' means (Harriet Miers isn't qualified to play a Supreme Court justice on "The West Wing.")

I disagree with Ann in this article. For one, it smacks of elitism. I don't care where one goes to school; I just want a justice who will follow the rule of law and follow the Constitution.
