Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Killing in the Name of...?

99 out of 100 volunteer soldiers and sailors are there because they want to serve their country, even if it means killing and dying for it. And yes, even in the face of a political situation they neither understand nor care about.

That's a problem. How can you kill and die for something you don't understand or even care about? Are you just doing what someone told you was the right thing to do?
