Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Instant-runoff

Runoff voting is an idiot's folly. I believe North Carolina is the only state that still uses runoff voting. It is the equivalent of either admitting that the elections system is irreparably broken or that the voters don't really mean what they say and need to be given a second chance. Either choice is equally insulting.

Technology doesn't change any of this. It is still a degenerate system.
