RE: RE: Unattractiveness
Steve said: Something tells me you missed the irony in Ann's opener. At the risk of being condescending, Ann is illustrating that one need only know a minimal amount of information on the nominated films to predict the outcome. The academy, and its "far-left agenda" make this possible.
No, I didn't miss anything. Ann just wrote a column about something she knows nothing about and thinks it's cute. It's not. It's dumb.
And finally, to suggest that the goal of the right is ignorance is just plain silly.
In regards to Ann's column, why? She writes a whole column about how a collection of films should be (or will be) judged, and she hasn't seen one of them. She knows nothing about what she's rating, just going with what she's read others have said about art... It's a 'gay' movie, or it's a 'death penalty with bonus gay lead' movie, she says. Of course, anyone who has seen either Brokeback Mountain or Capote would have much more insightful things to say regarding the films if they'd actually taken the time to watch either. It's silly and boastful — albeit expected — ignorance coming from Coulter.
Good to hear that you'll check out Junebug, though. I highly recommend it.
