Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Godless Hype

Wow, what bullsh*t hype. I'll bet that Ann squealed with glee when she saw that 6.06.06 was on a Tuesday (in The Entertainment Industry — the industry that Ann works in — Tuesdays are release days for music, books, and other product). Godless evil liberals and 666! Too funny!

I do like how she is literally leaning on the cover's title artwork, though. It's a good thing she has such reliable stereotypes to regularly lean on so she can, as Tanya pointed out, receive one the largest advances paid to a conservative author. There's obviously good money in perpetuating hatred and fear of your fellow Americans.

I feel sorry for the suckers who are going to buy this, thinking that they're truly finding out about their 'liberal' neighbors. Their fear-filled obsession with 'the enemy' is actually quite sad. Folks like Ann do nothing but perpetuate communication problems between people who don't take the time to understand others... well, that and get paid handsomely for doing so.

For future 'Godless' readers: Do you really want to know how your scary liberal neighbors/fellow Americans think? Talk to them. Put down the propaganda, go out and communciate with a few, and temporarily put personal agenda on the backburner. You may be surprised by what you learn. And you never know, those folks that Ann has you so scared of may be more like you than you ever realized — reverent, loving children and parents who appreciate their God, country, and way of life... just like you. Heck, you might even like them!
