Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Stokes Co. schools moving the "alternative school"...

From a concerned Stokes County citizen who wanted to remain nameless:

Andy, this is a venomous snake they were going to pop in the middle of the month. The only thing is their snake got out the bag early and bit them. I do not understand why they are moving the school. They didn't have a public hearing to get input at all. They just popped it on everybody. They even have the teachers scared. I heard there wasn't any teachers there last night to voice their opinion. This is just another dirty political trick. I really do believe they will push to move central office to King. It's about 2 miles from the superintendent's house. I have heard from many people on this side of the county saying that Ernest let them down. He has had his ears burned on this one many times. He chose to vote with the other three to move it (Terri Fowler was absent). Look at Ernest's website and key in his contact number: It goes back to the Board of Education. That's where all political campaigns should be run from, right??? The people who designed his site (Network Dynamics Inc.) has the school contract to provide wireless Internet to the school system.
