Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Stupid People

Whether you like to admit it or not, Ann does have a point: some people shouldn't go into certain areas, and if you are a stripper going to a party where a bunch of young drunk college boys are, you better be prepared for something to happen. If you are in that line of work, you should know what the dangers are, and if you choose to still do it then that is on you. I have no sympathy for strippers; they get what they ask for. Same if you are a young girl in a strange foreign land: don't get into cars with strangers after you have been drinking; common sense would tell you that.

That's right, and I like to admit it. Well, everything except your 'I have no sympathy for strippers; they get what they ask for.' I can't control who I feel sympathy for based on a category that I put them in. For me, it's sort of a case by case basis, if you can understand how that works.

I notice that you are pretty easy on the 'bunch of young drunk college boys' and 'strangers' in the 'strange foreign land,' though. In those scenarios, aren't they encouraging the stupidity by acting stupid themselves? (BTW, I don't find Aruba to be all that strange or foreign. They have shopping malls, McDonald's, and Starbucks coffee and are happy to speak English. It's much like being in America except the weather is better. Anyway.)

As for the "Liberals,' Bill Clinton, and Democrats are somehow behind every bad thing that happens in America", they are the ones that have a more relax view on topics that most people would think are morally and ethically wrong. They say "let freedom ring", but leave it up to the conservatives to clean up their free spirit way messes.

You're thinking of stupid people, not "Liberals," Bill Clinton, and Democrats. Sure, there's stupid "Liberals" and Democrats." There are also plenty of stupid "Conservatives" and Republicans. And regarding Bill Clinton, I'm sure he'd admit that he's done some stupid things.

But to add another president to this conversation, our current president — Dubya Bush — is unable to admit any mistakes he's made in his presidency. That's pretty stupid. And who's left to clean up his mess? All of us — "Liberals," "Conservatives," Democrats, Republicans, and even Bill Clinton. So I'm sorry, but you, Ann Coulter, and every other pundit in the nation can't convince me that all problems come from one side or the other. They generally come from stupid people, and every group has their fair share.
