Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Payment For Performance?

From Steve: A CEO is, by definition, "worth" what he or she is paid simply because the pay was disbursed and the CEO wasn't fired. I would be the first to admit that corporatism and capitalism have less and less to do with one another, but in this case, the most fundamental tenet of capitalism is being exercised here: payment for performance.

Question: Did, for instance, CEO Scott Livengood of Krispy Kreme receive 'payment for performance'?

Top executives in the USA get far more than their counterparts abroad.

It's no wonder why the American worker is slowly being eaten alive in this global economy.
