Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

And yet, some poor, demented children still think the primary has some significance with regard to actual public opinion. Next thing you know, some of them will be claiming a mandate.

Ah well, what can we expect from minds that believe reality is reflected in something they saw at the county fair when they were teenagers?
