RE: RE: Bartlett & Playing The Race Card
...is it that you just want to soften the nasty picture he paints of North Carolina Democrats? Could this be just the slightest bit of partisan defensiveness, Strother?
Nope. At that time in history — as you surely know, Steve — those called 'Democrats' were the 'conservatives': those who supported the industrialization of NC and who were mainly supporters of business interests... much like today's Republicans, but just of another name. Bartlett's just saying, 'See, they were racists too!' and mining old racist dirt to take a swing at modern-day Dems. I just find it funny.
NandO, which is still nothing more than the quasi-official propaganda organ of the NC Democrats, has been trying to paint conservatives and Republicans with racism for decades. Surely they were aware of this grotesque skeleton in their own closet. What utter hypocrisy.
Yep. Both parties and their staunch supporters have closets full of wrong-doing and corruption — surprise, surprise. Is that a shocker for a two-party system like ours? Of course not.
