Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Rangel: I'll quit Congress if Democrats lose

Rep. Charles Rangel, a powerful senior Democrat in Congress and the dean of New York's congressional delegation, said Wednesday that he'll quit Congress if the Democrats don't retake control of the House this year.

Rangel might be a little depressed over the health of Fidel Castro. For those of you who don't know, Rangel loves Castro. Everytime that Castro comes up to New York for some U.N. function, people like Rangel shows up at parties and rallies for this guy. Here's a good quote from Rush Limbaugh that explains the liberals love affair with Castro & Cuba:
What is it that I have always said liberals want? They want equality. They want everybody to be the same. They don't want anybody being humiliated by not being as good as the next person or by not having as much as the next person. The only way to do that is to spread misery equally. In Cuba you've got it. In Cuba you have total equality. You have misery spread equally.
