Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: S.C. Official: Sterilize Bad Parents

Reading this was like waking up in some sort of Orwellian or Huxleyan nightmare.

I'm sure Margaret Sanger is chuckling like mad from whatever hot rock she's roasting on.

Hey, sterilization only solves the problem of future rotten little rugrats. We need a solution for the ones that are on the way or here now. Why not make the thing a complete package? Why not include abortion and euthanasia? That way, any crack whore you miss sterilizing, you can always drag her in and abort any future sociopaths she's got cooking in the oven. As well, when you run across a whole nest of the little buggers, you can take care of that problem in a timely and neatly legal fashion.

Jesus wept!
