Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Lemmings

Rumsfeld is going to resign. Apparently the pubbies didn't learn a damned thing last night.

Tony Snow reacted to the change in the House by saying that it presented "intriguing possibilities," like passing the comprehensive immigration reform bill that was defeated this year. That didn't take long, did it, Tanya?

Not only did they not learn anything, they still aren't even listening. At least they'll have the Whigs to keep them company.

Update: Even I may have underestimated the Bush cabal. He may even get his wish of a fledgling North American Union before he leaves office. That would leave the way clear for his pal, The Beast In Pants Suits to implement it. I'm just surprised he didn't openly claim credit for yesterday's pubbie beating.
