Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Chimney Rock sale raises questions on state’s plan for site

Chimney Rock –
North Carolina last week reached a historic agreement to buy Chimney Rock Park, one of the most recognizable natural attractions in the state.

Questions abound about the $24 million deal, what the park might look like in years to come and how it will operate. The Morse family has owned and operated the park in Rutherford County since 1902.
