Laura Ingraham dropped from WSJS...
On Monday, The Laura Ingraham Show was dropped from WSJS. She was replaced by local host J.R. Snider talking about local issues. Since I am a fan of Laura, I wrote an e-mail to Tom Hamilton, WSJS General Manager. Here was his response...
Thank you for your comments, Andy.
I am writing this brief reply in order to share information with our Laura Ingraham fans regarding this new change. Please forgive the “standard” nature of this response, if it does not address your specific concerns.
I will invite you now to call Brian Freeman, WSJS News Director/Program Director at 336-733-5816. This is not because Brian has all the answers or because he is the reason……it is because this is Brian’s job and he does it very well. He has asked to speak with everyone and he has a great ear, so please consider calling him. Again, my information may not answer your specific questions and that is something Brian would like to do over the phone, anyway. Please give him a few days to respond; he is very busy with his own show, The Triad’s First News! We care about your concerns and you WILL hear from him.
When we added The Sean Hannity Show to our lineup this past Spring, we lost a great deal of our ability to connect with the Triad on a local level. The opportunity to showcase events, provide topical, local information and interview special guests was gone. With JR Snider available to host a local, live News/Talk show, our choice was easy in order to continue this “community connection” tradition. With You and the Law with Mike Wells, The Intelligent Investor with John Woodard, Money Matters with Gib and John and so many more special local features being showcased after 9AM, we knew the logical placement for this would be 9A-12Noon.
Today, according to her web site, The Laura Ingraham Show CAN be heard on, AM 1440, out of Lexington, NC. We appreciate you and your opinions. Please share them with us over the phone and perhaps help us even better shape the future of WSJS. Brian can share some upcoming weekend lineup additions, as well.
Please also give JR a chance. If you’re concerned with happenings in and around the Piedmont Triad, we promise you this show will pick up the momentum quickly. He may surprise you, given the chance and who knows; one day YOU might even be a guest.
Again, thank you for your comments and understanding. Please call Brian.

Thanks for inquiring about this issue Andy. I was wondering what happened to Laura. Before that it was “The Ride” that got canned. We all know why WSJS removed that program; it qualified under the United Nations definition of “Torture”.
