Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. I do feel sorry for her. She's a model, not an intellectual. Beauty pageants shouldn't have Q/A on "current events" and all that crap. It's all about the aesthetics anyway. If you are going to interview a model during a beauty pageant, at least ask them about something they can all be familiar with (makeup/beauty products, fashion, and maybe physical fitness … then they’ll all sound well informed).

I don't feel all that sorry for her. She's a beautiful girl and if she's not a total dumbass she probably stands to make a decent living until gravity and entropy take their inevitable tolls.

I do agree about the questions, though. We all know that asking questions like that is just a nod to feminist PC. The questions in the pageants used to be almost self-parody, but now we're not allowed to laugh at the brainless blond with the big boobs.

I think the fitness questions would be a great idea. Lord knows, most of America needs to put down the cheeseburger and the chocolate shake and listen up.
