Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Who Said It... Ahmadinejad or a Democrat?

So what's his point?

Given the same resources, we could probably construct something identical using Republicans, or even George Bush, himself. I haven't listened to Rush in a long time, especially after he became Jorge Bush's cabana boy, but this kind of pointless rhetoric is really beneath him.

I believe Rush made a good point... Ahmadinejad sounded like he was using the Democrat talking points. Who knows, the DNC might have allowed Ahmadinejad to use their speech writer. :-)

Be serious, Andy. It's more likely that Aminobubba can read a newspaper.

So, is Rush's argument that what the Democrats' are saying is untrue, simply because the Iranian midget repeated it? That's jingoistic rubbish. That's what I meant when I said it was beneath Rush to go there. I guess he's still just being a pubbie cheerleader after all.

I also can't believe he's stoking the flames for the neocons' wet dream of attacking Iran. Hasn't he had enough of them?

Of course I'm being serious... The Democrats & Ahmadinejad are saying the same things. Likewise, Democrats and Hugo Chavez are saying the same things too, but that's a different subject (somewhat.)

I don't get it. What "same things" are they saying? Are you and Rush offering that if the Democrats say that the sky is blue and then Aminajabba repeats it, that it is invalid? Are you two offering that the sky being blue would be a conspiracy between the Democrats and the Iranian Midget?

Is this a contest to see which side can can out-demagogue the other?

Is it any wonder that people don't vote? Their only choices are a bunch of insecure egomaniacs who seem to do nothing but delight in endlessly obscure games of verbal tag.

It is sad when the Democratic Party and a Terrorist Dictator sound the same. The Democrats and the Anti-War Left does not mind this rhetoric at all because it falls in line with the “I Hate Bush Club” (illegal wiretapping, secret prisons, illegitimate war, 9/11 conspiracy, tinfoil hats, Dan Rather, black helicopters…etc). It is irrelevant that this Terrorist is supplying weapons and technology to kill our soldiers in Iraq. I am surprised that the Democrats did not offer to take the Terrorist down to Ground Zero. They are always talking about rebuilding our tattered world image and opening up dialogue with our enemies. Hillary and the Terrorist laying a wreath at Ground Zero with the caption “Bush Lied, They Died”…election won…game over…Peace in our time.

During the 1980 Presidential campaign, the KKK endorsed Ronald Reagan. Several of the Klan leadership made public speeches endorsing Reagan and quoting him directly, not a paraphrase, a direct quote.

Of course all of the Left was on that like white on rice. I don't imagine any of my staunch Republican friends here would be willing to defend a statement from a Democrat that started with something like, "It is sad when the Republican Party and the Ku Klux Klan sound the same..."

I say again, this is jingoist nonsense. Get over it.

Wars usually make strange allies: The U.S. and the Soviet Union during W.W. II, the U.S. and Iraq during the Iran/Iraq war and Steve Brenneis and the anti-war left during Gulf War II. Ha! Power to the people. :)
