Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Museum plan is being revised

Teapot collector changes deal

SPARTA (Winston-Salem Journal) -
A wealthy art collector from Los Angeles said this month that he has pulled out of a commitment to exclusively display his eclectic collection of teapots at a museum in Sparta intended for them.

The Sparta Teapot Museum has raised $4.2 million, including more than $1 million of federal and state money, to draw tourists to a region hard-hit by manufacturing losses.

Now organizers say that even with the loss of the teapot collection they don’t intend to return any of the money they have raised.

Visiting a museum full of teapots isn't my cup of tea. Ha! (Pun intended) :)
