Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

What the hell did you expect?

I feel compelled to comment on the teenage pregnancy pact story. There seems to be a wide variety of reaction to the story, ranging from bored indifference to stuttering outrage. I tend more toward the former, and must ask the question, how is this worthy of national attention?

All of these girls were physically equipped to accomplish their goal. There is an entire industry out there of academics and social engineers who have been using the government-run schools for almost three decades to indoctrinate students on moral relativity. From the story, there appears to be a whole socialist infrastructure in place to support unwed teenage mothers. Pour hormones on the whole mess and I'm really surprised that it took this long to get here.

Some would engage in the utter lunacy of trying to understand why teenage girls do anything. A fool's errand, that.
