County breaks ground for new EMS station

(By Leslie Bray Evans, The Stokes News) - County officials gathered at 2610 Chestnut Grove Road in King on Monday morning for the groundbreaking for the new Emergency Medical Services station. “It’s been a long time coming,” said Stokes County EMS Director Monty Stevens. “I’m absolutely thrilled.”

Work on the $339,989 project actually commenced late last week as Wishon and Carter Builders out of Yadkinville began phase one of the six-month project. The 40 x 100-foot building will provide living quarters for the Pinnacle Station crews and will have three bays for ambulances.
