Dow Roofing to Close Stokes County Plant

STOKES COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) - Dow Roofing Systems announced on Friday it will close its plant in Collinstown.

The company says at least 100 people work at the plant.

According to the company, there has been a drop in the demand for the roofing product manufactured at the plant.

The plant will close by the end of November.

"The decision to shut down this production facility was a difficult one," said Victor Dean, general manager of Dow Roofing Systems. "Unfortunately, changing customer needs, coupled with our new product offering, resulted in low asset utilization at this facility."
