Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Petraeus: Obama Acknowledged That Iraq War ‘Surge’ Worked



(Politico) - On "Fox News Sunday," host Chris Wallace asked Petraeus whether Obama acknowledged that the surge was successful, and Petraeus said: "He did, in fact." But Petraeus, now the commander of the U.S. Central Command, said during the Afghanistan deliberations, the administration didn't spend much time relitigated past battles over Iraq.
