Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Stokes County bus driver arrested--Brought a gun onto school campus

(The Stokes News) - A Stokes County school bus driver was arrested Friday, accused of bringing a gun onto the campus of Meadowbrook School.

School system Superintendent Stewart Hobbs said someone at the school reported the incident to the Sheriff's Department.

Capt. Craig Carico identified the driver as 38-year-old Wayne Stevan Lindsay.
