Winston-Salem Dash Average 4,500 Fans a Game in New Ballpark

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) - The Winston-Salem Dash will wrap-up their first season in their new ballpark this week.

After financial struggles and construction delays, the brand new BB&T Ballpark will close its first season this week.

According to team officials, the average attendance has been around 4,500 people per game. The average is around 1,500 shy of capacity but on target with team projections.

"We are going to have over 300,000 people come through the park in first year. Before, the most that have ever gone to a minor league park in Winston-Salem is about 170,000," said Team President Geoff Lassiter.

Lassiter said the team will address parking issues before next year. The organization also plans to add another bar section inside the stadium.
