Watch a 260 MPH Crash From Inside the Race Car
(Danny Thompson Racing) - During the October 2010 Bonneville World Finals, Danny Thompson (driver of the world’s fastest mustang) lifted off of the salt at approximately 264.7 MPH. Insufficient downforce sent the car flipping end over end into the air. It traveled over eleven hundred feet before touching down again and continuing to tumble. Danny suffered no injuries, nor did his iPhone 4, which was tucked into the front of his uniform. It was a testament to safety equipment and the astounding work performed by the crew at Hajek Racing.
