The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Mark Shields Takes On-Air Swipe at Charles Krauthammer Over Pelosi/Taliban Joke



(Breitbart.tv) - Charles Krauthammer refers to the Taliban's low approval rating in Afghanistan as being "around the Pelosi levels". Liberal pundit Mark Shields sanctimoniously scolded Krauthammer on national television by disingenuously suggesting that he was comparing Pelosi to the Taliban.

It is a sad display of posturing that reveals the typical "faux-offended" tactic the left employs as a distraction instead of arguing actual facts.
