Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

New Hampshire Democrats Attack Republican Over Speech at Church

(The Blast) - Here is a story I never really thought I would see but I can’t say I’m terribly surprised by I suppose. A Republican lawmaker from New Hampshire, David Bates, recently visited a church in Massachusetts and delivered a speech. In the speech he tells the audience that we need to turn away from our wicked ways and back to God.

He basically implores the country to look to God. He doesn’t say anything terribly controversial that I can see. Here, see for yourself:
