Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Nancy Reynolds Elementary School is set to open

(By Leslie Bray, The Stokes News) - The new Nancy Reynolds Elementary School will be opening its doors to students, teachers and staff on Monday, Jan. 3. The school is complete except for a few items left on the punch list, according to David Burge, Director of Operations for Stokes County Schools.
