The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Tour information released for Obama's visit to Forsyth Tech

(By Lisa O'Donnell, Winston-Salem Journal) - President Barack Obama will tour two biotech classrooms on the main campus of Forsyth Technical Community College, greet students there, then speak to students, faculty and local business leaders on the west campus on Bolton Street on Monday, the White House announced today.

The speech will be closed to the public.

Air Force One will arrive and depart from Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro.
