Former NC House candidate, Randy Wolfe, from Mount Airy charged with third DWI
MOUNT AIRY (Winston-Salem Journal) - Randy Wolfe, the former Democratic candidate for the 90th North Carolina House of Representatives seat, was charged this weekend for driving while impaired, the third such charge in less than three months.
'The Mount Airy News' reported that Wolfe was stopped by Surry County Sheriff Deputy Jason Stirewalt Saturday at 11:50 p.m. and N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper Brent Jones took over the arrest, according to Sgt. Todd Keller.
Wolfe was on U.S. 52 near Westlake Drive when he was seen by the officers allegedly weaving and crossing the centerline. Keller said Wolfe was going 35 miles per hour in a 55 mile an hour zone.
Wolfe registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.17. He was driving a 2002 Mercedes with Washington, D.C., tags.
