The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Popular Music Club Ziggy's to Reopen in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A popular music scene will soon be making its return to downtown Winston-Salem.

After years of looking for the right spot and months of finalizing plans and getting permits, club-owners say that a new Ziggy's is under construction.

The new 14,000-square-foot club will be located at the corner of 8th and Trade streets.
